Playday 2018 in East Ayrshire will once again take place at the Kay Park, Kilmarnock; our QE11 Fields in Trust protected site. East Ayrshire’s Playday is split into a range of activity zones including; Messy Zone, Free Play Zone, Creative Zone, Adventure Zone, Fun Zone, Early Years Zone, Physical Zone and Health Zone.

Last year saw approximately 12,000 children, families and groups in attendance throughout the day taking part in numerous activities such as canoeing, mud slides, gunge pools, crate climbing, face painting, bouncy castles, climbing wall, den building, hay bales, quad bikes, laser quest, arts & crafts, as well as a plethora of sports activities that are all absolutely FREE.

Possibilities for Each and Every Kid will be hosting their annual National Playday celebration at Crownpoint Sports Complex.

We will be having a BBQ as well as lots of fun, creative, active and inclusive play activities for children, young people and families.

Play on the Longest Day

Aberdeen Play Forum’s Play Rangers is offering a term-time play session in Westburn Park to celebrate play on the longest day of the year!

We are delighted this session is going ahead with funding from Celebrate Aberdeen and follows on from a school’s event held during the day.

We will have our Loose Parts kit – recyclable resources such as pipes, fabric and boxes which encourage children to tap into their imaginations and lead their own play. We will also supply some fun messy ingredients such as mud, gloop, foam, bubbles plus lots and lots of water!!!
Old clothes, a towel and spare clothing to change into afterwards are highly recommended!

All ages welcome, most play sessions appeal to families with toddlers through to primary school age children.

All sessions are free of charge and there is no need to book.

Aberdeen Play Forum and Aberdeen City Council is not responsible for participants.

National Playday

National Playday; an extra special day to celebrate play! Please join the Aberdeen Play Forum in celebrating Children’s Rights to Play with a host of engaging activities.

Our Play Rangers will have our Loose Parts Kit – Pipes, Planks of Wood, Tarpaulins, Tyres, Cardboard, Fabric which all help encourage children to tap into their imaginations and lead their own play.

Some examples of the wonderful activities we will have at this years event include:

  • Step Dance Academy
  • Inflatable obstacle course and bouncy castle
  • Woodland Crafts
    and Lot’s Lot’s more

CrossReach – Daisy Chain’s BIG PLAYDAY

Come along and join in Daisy Chain’s community PLAYDAY. This is the second year we are running a playday and if last year is anything to go by it is set to be a big success! This year we have taken a focus on what parents used to play when they were little. We will have the traditional games from of hop scotch, kirbie and skipping alongside those from families who grew up in other parts of the world such as Pakistan, Romania or India.

We will also have loose parts, den building and there will be our very own BEACH!! with water! so come prepared with a spade and a towel!

— Working within the community of Govanhill in Glasgow, CrossReach’s Daisy Chain Early Years Project uses play-based interventions to improve the lives and life chances of children under 8. Daisy Chain also provides support to parents, giving advice, counsel and opportunities to grow; encouraging them to be the best parents they can be.

Fife’s Playday Celebration

This free event will include lots of fun filled activities for all the family from babies to adults and includes: den building, messy & sensory play, arts & crafts, woodland play, Play Talk Read bus, Play on Wheels, loose part play, treasure hunt, sports & games, bicycle rides, family adventures walks and much more!
